Like you, we are People With Parkinson’s, Care Partners, and Other Interested People who get together and share ways to live better with Parkinson’s. We welcome people at any age and any stage of Parkinson’s. We often have guest speakers share with us. Our current attendance ranges from 50 to 75 people each month. Click on the OUR NEWSLETTERS link to read the short biographical sketches of members featured in each monthly issue.
Our Group was formed more than twenty years ago under the name of “Valley Parkinson’s Support Group” which later became “North Fresno Parkinson’s Support Group.” In January 2007 the name was changed to “Greater Fresno Parkinson’s Support Group” recognizing that our members live in a geographical area much larger than the “North Fresno…” name implied. Some of the founding members still attend or are involved with our Group.
There are no fees or dues for attending our meetings; however, donations at the meetings to cover expenses are appreciated from those who can contribute. Although our Support Group does not itself have non-profit status, tax-deductible donations benefiting our Group may be made by checks payable to the “Fresno Regional Foundation” marked specifically “For the Parkinson’s Support Fund.” Bring checks to our meetings or mail them to:
